<p>The method involves detecting movable objects i.e. road users, in an environment (U) of a motor vehicle i.e. lorry (20), by a sensor i.e. camera (2). Stochastic accessibility amounts (M, M') of the respective vehicle and objects are computed by an evaluation unit. A probability of collision between the vehicle and the object is computed by formation of intersection of the accessibility amounts by the evaluation unit. A hazard map is generated by the evaluation unit based on the collision probability, and the hazard map is displayed through a display in the vehicle. The road users are selected from a group consisting of pedestrians (10-14) and cyclists (15, 16). An independent claim is also included for a system for predicting collision between a motor vehicle and an object in an environment of a motor vehicle.</p> |
