<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery anode material whose irreversible capacity (difference between charging and discharging capacities) is small and which has excellent charging-discharging cycle characteristics and a large discharging capacity. <P>SOLUTION: A ramsdellite type lithium titanate Li<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Ti<SB POS="POST">y</SB>O<SB POS="POST">z</SB>(0.75≤x≤2.66, 1.33≤y≤4, 3≤z≤7) subjected to post-annealing treatment under predetermined post-annealing conditions and having a three-dimensional tunnel structure is used as a lithium secondary battery anode material, and an anode active material pellet 2 containing at least the ramsdellite type lithium titanate is made the anode of a lithium secondary battery. The post-annealing condition is preferably such that post annealing be carried out in an inert gas atmosphere not containing oxygen, such as a nitrogen gas or an argon gas atmosphere, at any temperature in the range 100 to 400°C for any duration of time of at least 3 hours or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
