<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing CNT for a fuel cell which can improve the purity of CNT manufactured using a CVD method, and to provide an electrode catalyst for a fuel cell, relating with the method for manufacturing CNT for a fuel cell and the electrode catalyst for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: When CNT is grown up using a CVD method, there is that a growth catalyst is covered with carbon (A-1), floats from a substrate and goes into the inside of CNT (A-2). Therefore, CNT is heated at at least 1,500°C, the growing end of CNT is opened ((B-1), (B-2)). Moreover, the vapor pressure of iron used for the growth catalyst is 10<SP POS="POST">-2</SP>Torr at about 1,500°C. Therefore, CNT grown up on the substrate is heated at at least 1,500°C, the vacuum is made at most 10<SP POS="POST">-2</SP>Torr, thereby iron can be evaporated. Therefore, the purity of CNT can be improved good, and CNT suitable as an electrode catalyst of a fuel cell can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
