<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress gas generation from a surface of an Ni positive electrode in high temperature storage and also suppress deterioration in battery performance. <P>SOLUTION: In a positive electrode material for a lithium secondary battery, a positive electrode active material represented by a compositional formula: Li<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Ni<SB POS="POST">1-y</SB>M<SB POS="POST">y</SB>O<SB POS="POST">2</SB>(where, 0≤x≤1.2 and 0≤y<0.5 are satisfied, and M represents at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Al, Mg, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, Al, Ti, Ge, W and Zr) is used. A surface of the positive electrode active material is covered with at least one of compounds of A<SB POS="POST">2</SB>CO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>and AOH (where, A represents an alkali metal), and a surface of the compound is covered with a polymer containing a sulfo group, or a sulfo group and a carboxyl group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
