<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and means for adapting 3D video content to different viewing conditions in a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The method for adapting 3D video content to a display includes: a step 10 of retrieving a stereoscopic image pair; a step 11 of obtaining a maximum disparity value (d<SB POS="POST">max</SB>(t)) for the stereoscopic image pair; a step 12 of determining a largest allowable shift (h<SB POS="POST">MAX</SB>(t)) for the stereoscopic image pair using the obtained maximum disparity value (d<SB POS="POST">max</SB>(t)); a step 13 of calculating an actual shift (h(t)/2) for a left image and a right image of the stereoscopic image pair using the determined largest allowable shift (h<SB POS="POST">MAX</SB>(t)); and a step 14 of shifting the left image and the right image in accordance with the calculated actual shift (h(t)/2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
