PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION ELEMENT AND SOLAR CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a photoelectric conversion element manufactured using a compound (dye) which is novel, good in adsorption properties to an oxide semiconductor and high in photoelectric conversion efficiency; and a solar cell.

SOLUTION: A dye sensitized photoelectric conversion element includes at least a semiconductor layer comprising a sensitizing dye supported on a semiconductor and a charge transport layer, between a pair of electrodes facing each other. In the dye sensitized photoelectric conversion element, the sensitizing dye contains a compound represented by the following general formula (1).
