<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an area generated at a boundary part of a divided display area, in which color reproducibility deteriorates, on a display to allow a user to identify the area. <P>SOLUTION: In a video display device 100, different backlight settings can be performed for each of the divided display areas. A backlight setting comparison part 206 determines whether different backlight settings are performed for each of the display areas by backlight setting values (luminance, color temperature). A boundary area width determination part 207 determines, when different backlight settings are performed for each of the display areas, an area in which color reproducibility deteriorates at a boundary part of each of the display area by a determination table of the boundary part and backlight setting values of a display area adjacent to the boundary part.
