POSITION DETECTION SYSTEM AND POSITION DETECTION METHOD, AND SIGNAL MEASUREMENT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve measurement accuracy in a time difference between a start frame and an end frame of a communication frame in a position detection system that calculates a distance between a mobile station device and a base station device to detect the position of the mobile station device based on a time difference in which the mobile station device transmits the communication frame to the base station device and subsequently the mobile station device receives the communication frame from the base station device and a time difference in which the base station device receives the communication frame from the mobile station device and subsequently the base station device transmits the communication frame to the mobile station device.

SOLUTION: Whether or not respective identification numbers of start frames added with the identification numbers which are input by a plurality of counters coincide with each other is determined. When the identification numbers do not coincide with each other, a signal indicating invalidity of the calculation of the time difference based on the number of clocks input from a clock used for detecting reception timing of the start frames up to a clock used for detecting reception timing of the end frames is output.
