Disclosed are: an airbag which is capable of withstanding not only external impacts but also high temperatures and high pressures and thus can be used as an external airbag; and a production method for the airbag. The airbag of the present invention comprises: a fabric which has a cover factor of from 1,500 to 2,100 and comprises aramid fibres having a modulus of elasticity of from 600 to 1,000 g/d and a tensile strength of from 20 to 30g/d; and a coating layer formed on the surface of the fabric, wherein the seam strength at the joins, which is measured by the ASTM D 1683 standard, ranges from 200 to 600 kgf/20mm.
