FULLY VAPOR-DEPOSITED GOLF BALL AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a metal coating film deposited on a golf ball from being separated from the golf ball even by impact of a golf club, the metal coating film being deposited for improving visual recognition.

SOLUTION: The golf ball 1 comprises a core 2, a cover 3 for covering the surface of the core 2, and the metal coating film 4 provided on the surface side of the cover 3, wherein the metal coating film 4 is set at 500-1,000 Å (0.05-0.1 μm). In forming the metal coating film 4, the golf ball activated by ion bombardment is held by a needlelike body 8 of a first implement 71 and, after the deposition of the metal coating film 4, it is replaced onto a second implement 72, forming the metal coating film 4 and a protective layers 5, 6 on the surface.
