<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for varying latent heat storage performance of a clathrate hydrate using a quaternary ammonium compound as a guest. <P>SOLUTION: The method for varying latent heat storage performance of a clathrate hydrate using a quaternary ammonium compound as a guest includes: a first step of cooling an aqueous solution containing the quaternary ammonium compound, while feeding a gas into the aqueous solution from the outside or after mixing the gas fed from the outside; and a second step of generating the clathrate hydrate having higher latent heat storage performance as compared with the case of cooling the aqueous solution without feeding or mixing the gas, by cooling the aqueous solution in the first step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
