<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta toner that has a improved coloring power and suppresses image failure such as development streaks over a long period of time, in the process of producing the magenta toner using a plurality of kinds of pigments by a suspension polymerization method. <P>SOLUTION: A magenta toner contains toner particles obtained by adding a polymerizable monomer composition containing a polymerizable monomer, wax, a colorant (A), a colorant (B), a polar resin (A) and a polar resin (B) to an aqueous medium, granulating the polymerizable monomer composition in the aqueous medium to form particles of the polymerizable monomer composition, and polymerizing the polymerizable monomer in the particles. In the magenta toner, the colorant (A) is a quinacridone pigment, the colorant (B) is a naphthol pigment, the polar resin (A) is a polyester resin, and the polar resin (B) is a carboxyl group-containing styrene resin. A tetrahydrofuran soluble content of the polar resin (B) has a weight average molecular weight of 8000 to 50000 measured by gel permeation chromatography. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
