<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device capable of preventing occurrence of a thermocline and an eutrophication phenomenon in a water reservoir as much as possible in a wide range. <P>SOLUTION: The intake device is provided inside a water reservoir such as a dam lake 2, separates the water reservoir into an intake side area 2a and a counter-intake side area 2b to shield water, and has a water conduction part for conducting stored water from the counter-intake side area to the intake side area. The intake device includes: surface layer water conduction means 1A where a water conduction part 8A for surface layer water for conducting the surface layer water in a range from a water surface to a prescribed depth is formed and the part below the water conduction part for the surface layer water is shielded; and bottom layer water conduction means 1B where a water conduction part 8B for bottom layer water for conducting the bottom layer water in a rage from a water bottom to a prescribed depth is formed and the part above the water conduction part for the bottom layer water is shielded.
