<p>Multimedia terminal adapter (MTA) systems and methods in accordance with Voice over Internet Protocol are described. MTAs can be configured to enable handsets to utilize a prompt login feature that permits users to log the handset on to multiple profiles simultaneously, thereby allowing a user to quickly answer a call from an initially unauthorized handset. In addition, at least a portion of call logs stored at the MTA for each profile can be accessed between profiles to enable the handset to perform various functions, such as call transferring. Moreover, the system can be configured such that only a device allocated to a particular line/profile can ring and answer a call received on the line/profile.</p> |
