PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for hermetically sealing a plasma display panel without degrading a protective film.

SOLUTION: A protrusion 107 is provided on the display surface side of a seal layer 101. The protrusion 107 is configured to include a getter layer 107a and a partition-like structural material 107b. The getter layer 107a is composed of the same material as that of a protective film 102. Carbon dioxide and steam produced when welding the seal layer 101 are absorbed into the getter layer 107a, and physical inflow of gas to the display surface is prevented by the partition-like structural material 107b.
