<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens that is compact and suitable for moving image shooting, and an imaging apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises:, in order from an object side, a first positive lens group; a second negative lens group; an aperture diaphragm; a third positive lens group; a fourth negative lens group; and a fifth positive lens group. When varying power, positions of the first lens group and the aperture diaphragm are at least fixed, the second lens group and the third lens group are moved closer to the aperture diaphragm at a telephoto end than at a wide angle end, and each distance between each lens group and the aperture diaphragm is varied. When focusing, the fourth lens group is moved in an optical axis direction. The zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expressions: 4.0<ft/fw...(1) and Σ1G5G/yw<15.9...(2) (where fw and ft represent focal distances of the entire zoom lens system in an infinity focusing state at the wide angle end and the telephoto end respectively, Σ1G5G represents a thickness on an optical axis from a surface of the first lens group on the object side to a surface of the fifth lens group on an image side at the wide angle end, and yw represents a maximum image height on an imaging surface at the wide angle end). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
