<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow ignition engine that facilitates connecting an electrode of a glow plug with a booster. <P>SOLUTION: The glow ignition engine 1 has a cylinder 2, a piston 3, a glow plug 4, and an adaptor 5. The piston 3 is provided in the cylinder 2. The glow plug 4 is provided with an electrode exposed outside the cylinder 2, and is fixed inside the adaptor 5 which is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. The adaptor 5 has an inner diameter slightly larger than an outer diameter of the booster for energizing the glow plug 4, and is fixed to the cylinder 2.
