<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for a vehicle capable of coping with not only the case when stepping on both of an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal by mistake, but the case when intentionally stepping on both of the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal. <P>SOLUTION: The engine control device for the vehicle is provided with both stepping determination means S20, S30 for determining whether or not the state is a both stepping state where both the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal are stepped, and an output limiting means S50 for limiting the output of the engine so that the stepping operation of the brake pedal has priority over the stepping operation of the accelerator pedal, when the both stepping state is determined (Yes in S20, Yes in S30). When a transmission which changes the rotation speed of the engine output shaft and transmits the changed rotation speed to a driving shaft is in a neutral state or when the vehicle is in a hill climbing traveling state of traveling on an upward slope (Yes in S40), the limitation of the engine output by the output limiting means is prohibited even when the both stepping state is determined (S50). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
