The deflection roller (10) has a shaft with a cylindrical middle portion (12c) and axle pins (12b) at both axial ends that are fixed via flange portions (12b'). The middle portion is surrounded by a jacket (11), and end flanges (20b) are arranged around the axle pins. The outer surface of the middle portion and inner surface of casing are convex-shaped, so that inner surface of casing is contacted with a load over entire axial length. The clutches (60) arranged between end flanges and the shaft, are rotated at same angular velocity for transferring torque.
