PURPOSE: An ink jet recording medium is provided to rapidly absorb ink and prevent generation of irregular colors. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet recording medium comprises a support material and an acceptance layer. The ink receptive layer is offered on the support material. The ink receptive layer is composed of at least 2 layers of upper layer and sub-layer. The ink receptive layer is composed of more than 2 of polyvinyl alcohol layers. The ink receptive layer is composed of an upper layer and an under layer. The ink receptive layer includes more than 12.7 mass% based on total aggregate mass. The upper layer is the farthest layer from the supporter which is composed of more than 2 layers. The upper layer contains more than 90% of pigment containing alumina hydration and polyvinyl alcohol. The upper layer has a thickness more than 3 micro meters and less than 10 micro meters. |
