<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine in which noise generation and/or early abrasion during engine operation can be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: This device is to be applied to an engine system having an on-vehicle internal combustion engine, an engine driven oil pump, an oil supply passage for supplying an each part of the engine with oil. The system includes a pressure adjusting device an operating condition of which is changed within an operation range including a first operation mode where oil pressure in the oil supply passage is adjusted to low pressure, and a second operation mode where the pressure is adjusted to high pressure. Oil pressure control is implemented for controlling operation of the pressure adjusting device in the second operation mode over a prescribe period of time after the engine is started. When it is determined that an abnormality is generated and the pressure adjusting device cannot be changed to be in the second operation mode (S302: YES), it is prohibited that the operation of the internal combustion engine is stopped through an automatic stop control (process of S303 is skipped). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
