<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prescription which significantly increases an adhesion amount and raises a wood preservation function when sprinkling a surface treating agent which makes borate an active substance at a wood surface. <P>SOLUTION: In high density aqueous solution of borate, 0.3% or less of xanthan gum and 2.0% or less of surfactant are added.
