Each image data file recorded on the recording medium has an original recorded file flag added thereto which flag indicates whether the image data file is obtained by photographing by the own device. Photographing date and time information is added to an image data file obtained by photographing by the own device. Obtainment date and time information is added to an image data file supplied externally. In a classification process, an original recorded file flag is checked (step S1). An obtainment date and time is used for an image data file obtained externally (step S2). A photographing date and time is used for an image data file obtained by photographing (step S3). A classification process is performed (step S4). A result of the classification process is displayed (step S5).
