A communication device includes: a request execution unit that executes request processes including a first and second kind of request processes; a target data communication unit that transmits/receives target data to/from a communication destination device; and an operation control unit. The operation control unit is configured to: control the request execution unit to execute the first kind of request process each time transmitting/receiving the target data during a first time period; control the request execution unit to try the second kind of request process at a predetermined timing within the first time period; maintain the first time period; transition the first time period to a second time period if the communication session is established through the transmission of the second kind of communication request in the trial; and control the request execution unit to execute the second kind of request process during the second time period.
