A method for pre-planning the amount of surgical correction of kyphotic deformity in ankylosing spondylitis include preoperative determination of the required angle of wedge spine section. In vertical, drawn through the trochanter with known sides of the right triangle, proximal angle is determined which is equal to the angle of body inclination corresponding to the angle of wedge section of the spine.
