1,204,305. Golf club head. BRUNSWICK CORP. 19 March, 1969 [16 April, 1968], No. 14436/69. Heading A6D. A metal golf club head 10 consists of a shank 12 and a blade 11. The blade has a planar front face 14 with a striking portion 14', a back face 16, a top edge 17 and a sole 15. The sole 15 consists of a substantially flat front bottom surface 20 and a back bottom surface 21 which is disposed above and behind the front surface; both surfaces extend substantially the length of the head and the back surface 21 forms with the back face 16 a continuous trailing edge. A wall 26 extends upwards from the front surface to the back surface. In an embodiment the sole is formed with three surfaces, stepped as described above. In further embodiments the sole has a front bottom surface and a back bottom surface extending upwards from the front surface. |
