The element (10) has base elements (11.1, 11.2) arranged such that a vertical surface of a lateral plate (12.1) stands in parallel to another vertical surface of another lateral plate (12.2). A transverse web (15.1) of the former plate stands in alignment to a transverse web (15.2) of the latter plate. A receiving groove (40) extends over height of a vertical end surface of the webs and opens on upper and lower sides of the base elements in upper and lower surfaces. The groove comprises L-shaped integrated horizontal cross section from the upper surface to the lower surface. The base elements are designed as cast elements. The wall element is made of stone, concrete, plastic concrete, or plastic.
