The invention discloses a method of transmitting sub-sampled video frames comprising pixels, through P different determined transmission paths, P being an integer, each pixel being represented by a plurality of video components able to convey colour or luminous intensity, and at least two different pixels having a different number of video components. The method comprises for each video frame: dividing the video frame into one or more blocks of pixels, for each block of the video frame, dividing the video components of the block into separate groups among P groups according to a partitioning scheme, so that, the video components are evenly divided among the P groups and allocating and transmitting groups on different transmission paths. |
