PURPOSE: A portable terminal including a text message transmission and reception function for a voice and a text is provided to execute or terminate the text message transmission and reception function by transmitting or receiving a text message. CONSTITUTION: A memory unit(220) stores a text message transmission and reception program for a voice and a text. A control unit(230) controls the execution and termination of the text message transmission and reception program by recognizing the voice and the text. The control unit recognizes the voice of a user when the text message is transmitted in the execution state of the text message transmission and reception function. The control unit automatically registers text message content and a reception telephone number by recognizing the voice.
