The workplace (2) has a holding device (23) arranged adjacent to a thread run between an unwinding spool (9) and a winding spool (11) for holding thread loops. The holding device has collecting elements i.e. cylindrical pins, arranged at a distance to the thread run, where the collecting elements are turned opposite to a running direction (F) of thread (30). The collecting elements are turned towards a direction parallel to the thread run and formed as claws. The collecting elements are ground into thin metallic sheets that are arranged at opposite sides of the thread run.
