<p>A furniture glide 10 for a tubular furniture leg comprises a furniture leg engagement assembly 12 and a base assembly 14 wherein the base assembly includes a receiver member 60 and a floor engaging base member 62 detachably mounted to the receiver member. The base member 62 has a pad portion with a bottom surface adapted for contacting a floor. A press-fit connection is provided between the base member and the receiving member, the connection taking the form of concentric rings and annular cavities that engage one another [see 66,68,70,72,74,76 Figure 2] . The glide may include a rivet member 16 mounting the base assembly 14 to the leg engaging assembly 12, the rivet having an upper head portion 38, a neck portion 42, and a ball portion 40 that enable swivelling of the glide. Base members 62 of different construction and material are provided [see Figures 2,5,7,9,11,13,14] such that an appropriate base member can be selected for the type of floor that the glide is to be used on.</p> |
