<p>Embodiments of the present invention disclose a hermetic seal apparatus for a portable electronic device. According to one embodiment, the sealing apparatus includes a first housing 102 and a second housing 104 that are connected together at a common end. A receiving member 108 is formed continuously around an interior surface of the first housing, while a receiving member 112 is formed continuously around an interior surface of the second housing.
