<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generator where thermal energy can be more efficiently conducted to a catalyst layer without remarkably changing its structure and combustion conditions, and also, hydrogen can be generated without exerting influence on its durability. <P>SOLUTION: In the hydrogen generator where, the opening part of a vessel 1 composed of a heat insulating material is provided with a burner for combustion, so as to be held to a heat holding material 3, the outside of the heat holding material is provided with a reforming tube 4 with a double tube structure composed of an outside tube 4a composed of a preheating space part preheating a gaseous mixture of a hydrocarbon based raw fuel and water vapor and a first catalyst layer reforming the gaseous mixture into hydrogen, and an inside tube 4b communicating with the outside tube and composed of a second catalyst layer and a cooling space part cooling the reformed gas, and combustion exhaust gas is made to flow into an evaporator through a gas flow passage present at the lower part of the reforming tube than the combustion space part present at the lower part of the burner for combustion, and a combustion exhaust gas passage 100 formed between the vessel and the reforming tube by the gas flow passage, a block body 10 composed of a heat insulating material for high temperature is arranged at the central position of the combustion space part of the burner 2 for combustion with a suitable gap between the same and the inside tube, so as to form a combustion exhaust gas flow passage 101. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
