A method for selecting the tactics in treating the acute inflammation of the orbit comprises the assessment of such tomographic symptoms as exophthalmia, the volume of extraocular muscles and orbital fat tissue, and the extent of inflammation. The densitometric density of the orbital fat tissue is measured. When the value measured is within (+52) -(+86) HU, the urgent transcutaneous orbitotomy is provided. When the densitometry provides the values within (-6) - (+28) HU, conservative therapy is indicated. |
