1284292 Polypropylene film ESSO RESEARCH & ENG CO 5 Sept 1969 [7 Oct 1968] 44088/69 Heading C3P Films having improved impact strength are made from compositions comprising a propylene polymer, 0À05 to 0À30 weight per cent of a phenolic antioxidant, 0À08 to 0À20 weight per cent of a slip agent and 0À05 to 0À15 weight of an antiblock agent, the polymer having a defined shear stress and swell. The polymer may be a homopolymer or copolymer of propylene with another α-olefin. The phenolic antioxidant may be phenol, cresol, 2,6-di-t-butyl cresol, 2,2<SP>1</SP>- methylene bis-(4-methyl-6-t-butylphenol), 4,4<SP>1</SP>- thio bis-(3-methyl-6-t-butylphenol), 4,41-methylene bis-(2,6-di-t-butylphenol) or α-2<SP>1</SP>,α-6<SP>1</SP>-bis- (3-t-butyl-5-methyl-2-hydroxyphenyl) mesitol. The slip agent may be stearamide, oleamide or erucamide. The antiblock may be diatomaceous earth. |
