1,222,187. Pressure-sensitive record sheets. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. 12 March, 1969 [1 April, 1968], No. 12948/69. Heading D2B. In a sheet of pressure-sensitive record material of the kind in which a base sheet carries a coating of liquid-containing, pressurerupturable microcapsuler, there is under the capsule layer a coating of a latex that does not result in an increase of more than 10 % in the extraction of capsule contents by a solvent such as toluene. Suitable latices are of ethylenevinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinyl chloride or polyvinylidene chloride. There may be a further layer of a film-forming, hydrophilic, polymeric material, e.g. polyvinyl alcohol or ammonium complexes of casein, under the latex layer, when the base sheet is of porous paper. The capsules may contain a chromogenic phthalide, when the sheet may be used with a receiving sheet coated with a phenolic resin.
|
