摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating wavelength tunable external cavity laser is provided to increase the degree of integration by integrating an optical amplifier, a comb shaped reflector, an optical modulator on a single substrate into a successive waveguide. CONSTITUTION: An optical amplifier(130), a comb shaped reflector(140), and an optical signal processor(150) are offered to a first substrate. An external wavelength tunable reflector(220) connected to the optical amplifier is offered to a second substrate contiguous to the first substrate. The comb shaped reflector includes a wave guide offered to the first substrate and a first diffraction lattice offered to one end of the wave guide which is contiguous to the optical amplifier. The comb shaped reflector includes a second diffraction grating offered to the other end of the wave guide which is contiguous to the optical signal processor The optical amplifier, the comb shaped reflector, and the optical signal processor constitute a successive wave guide.
