<p>PURPOSE: A tempered glass for display and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture a tempered glass which is suitable for less than 10 inch sized mobile instrument. CONSTITUTION: To manufacture a tempered glass for display, a chemical strengthening process needs to be performed through a thermal process. In the thermal processing step, a processed glass is treated in a tempering furnace. The tempering furnace includes melted potassium nitrate which is heated at 385-445 deg. Celsius. A manufacturing method of a tempered glass for display comprises a step of performing etching process using etchant which uses ammonium fluoride as a main ingredient. The etching process operates before or after the chemical strengthening process. The etchant comprises 5-20 weight% of ammonium fluoride, 10-30 weight% of inorganic acid, 1-10 weight% of carboxylic acid, 0.001-2 weight% of inorganic material acid salts, 0.001-2 weight% of surfactant, and remaining amount of water. The manufacturing method of a tempered glass for display additionally includes a pre-heat treatment step and a post-annealing step before and after the thermal processing step.</p> |
