PURPOSE: A pile for a reactive column type vertical drain method and an improvement method of soft ground using the same are provided to simultaneously drain pore water within soft ground and purify contaminations in the pore water. CONSTITUTION: A pile(100) for a reactive column type vertical drain method comprises a first cover unit(110), a first contamination reaction unit(120), a second cover unit(130), a second contamination unit(140), a first drain mat(150), and a second drain mat(160). The first cover unit is composed of an impermeable material and is formed in a hollow shape. The inner side of the first cover unit is filled with the first contamination reaction unit. The second cover unit is separated from the first cover unit and is composed of a permeable material. A gap between the first and second cover units is filled with the second contamination reaction unit The first drain mat covers the bottom end of the first cover unit. The second drain mat covers the top end of the second cover unit.
