PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for connecting reinforcing bars are provided to remarkably reduce the fatigue of a worker by coupling reincing bars crossing at right angles to each other. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(10) for connecting reinforcing bars comprises a bending part(11), two guide grooves(12), reinforcing bar through holes(13), and wing parts(14). The bending part is formed in a flat plate shape and can be bent to surround a vertical reinforcing bar. The guide grooves are formed in the left and right of the bending part. The reinforcing bar through holes are formed in the ends fo the guide grooves and are rounded to surround a horizontal reinforcing bar. The wing parts are integrally formed in the bending parts to be adjacent to the guide grooves.
