PURPOSE: An L-methionine which is converted from O-acethylhomoserine from L-methionine precursor producing strain is provided to used as a feed additive for animal and food or food additive for human. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing L-methionine precursor producing strain comprises: a step of deleting or attenuating a gene which encodes O-succinylhomoserine sufhydrylase or O-actylhomoserine sufhydryllase in a strain; a step of deleting or attenuating thrB gene coding homoserine kinase; a step of deleting or attenuating a transcription regulator of methionine synthetic path; a step of enhancing the expression of met X which encodes homoserine O-acetyltransferase; and a step of enhancing the activation of aspatokinase or homoserine dihydrogenase.
