1293595 Fluid filter with detachable connections MARVEL ENG CO 20 Nov 1969 [21 Nov 1968] 56786/69 Heading BID The housing of a filter element 3 is surmounted by a head 1 having a fluid inlet 4 and a fluid outlet 5 which are surrounded by flat external surfaces 6, 7, respectively, the head being secured to two connection-forming members 20 by bolts 22 which pass through four apertures in each member 20 and are threaded into holes in the flat surfaces 6, 7 of the head. In this way different connection-forming members can be fitted on a universal head. Each member 20 is attached to a support, pipe or tube by means of screw-threaded sockets 30. A by-pass valve 52 may be installed in the housing by punching out holes in wall 41, and attaching the valve to the wall by means of rod 50. Spring 53 urges the valve against wall 41 thereby closing the holes therein during normal operation of the filter. |
