FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and may be used to elliptic-profiled suture. A stapler comprises a head which holds a set of staples. The head has a frontal surface. The stapler comprises a stopper with its working surface shaped and sized to form staples when actuating the stapler. The frontal surface of the stopper lies opposite to the frontal surface of the head for the purpose of joint coupling. The frontal surface of the head is inclined towards a longitudinal axis of the head for forming an elliptic line of the staples when the head contacts with the stopper while actuating the stapler. ^ EFFECT: mechanism optimises the length and functions of the line of the staples formed by the intracavitary stapler. ^ 10 cl, 14 dwg
