PURPOSE: A passenger recognizing device is provided to recognize clearly objects even if water is absorbed into a seat, since a value output according to a change in electric field by the objects is compared with a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION: A passenger recognizing device comprises first and second electrodes(20,30), a water sensing unit, and a control unit(52). Electric field to which an object occupying a seat is exposed is formed between first and second electrodes. The water sensing unit senses the amount of the water of the seat. The control unit recognizes the objects occupying the seat according to a change in the electric field and the amount of the water. |
