The method involves fixing electric resistance sensors (3) on a surface (1) of a bearing (2), where the sensors are arranged in a circular and star manner and exposed to a bore (4) of the bearing. A set of values of new electric resistances of each sensor is measured. Another set of values of electric resistances of each sensor after completion of an endurance test, is measured. Consequence of degradation of a circumference of the bore is determined by calculating a ratio between the two sets of values of electric resistances of the sensors. An independent claim is also included for a test bearing comprising electric resistance sensors.
