An exhaust gas recirculation system is provided to reduce installation space and manufacturing costs by permitting an EGR valve to be cooled by an engine oil so that the length of the EGR pipe for passage of exhaust gas is shortened. An exhaust gas recirculation system comprises an EGR valve(18) connected to one side of an exhaust manifold; an EGR cooler(20) mounted on an outlet side of the EGR valve and connected to one side of an intake manifold so as to cool exhaust gas; and an oil heater(22) mounted on an outer surface of the EGR valve so that the EGR valve is cooled and an engine oil is heated through the heat exchange between the exhaust gas passing through the EGR valve and the engine oil.
