The vehicle (1) has a heat engine (2) and an electric motor (21) supplied with electric energy by a rechargeable or non-rechargeable high-voltage battery (5). The heat engine comprises an exhaust line (3) for evacuation of exhaust gas generated by the heat engine, and a securing system (12) to avoid risks of fire or explosion of the battery. The securing system comprises a gas bypass line (12.1) connected to the exhaust line for sampling a part of gas from the exhaust line and injecting the sampled gas on the battery in case of detection of anomalies in the battery. An independent claim is also included for a method for securing a power supply battery of a vehicle.
