PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescent device is provided to improve luminous efficiency by maximizing total reflection due to a refractive index. CONSTITUTION: A switching thin film transistor and a driving thin film transistor are formed on each pixel region of a first substrate(110). A protection layer(140) covers the switching tin film transistor and the driving thin film transistor. An organic electroluminescent diode(101) is connected to a drain electrode(136) of the driving thin film transistor on the upper side of the protection layer. A second substrate(170) faces the first substrate. A seal pattern is interposed into a non-display region between the first substrate and the second substrate.
