<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for cutting and separating the top end side from the base end side of the workpiece of a long size material. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: a stage where the long size material W is rotated by a main chuck holding the base end side of the long size material; a stage where a support chuck 11 for supporting the long size material W is moved in the longitudinal direction of the long size material W integrally with a carriage 7 when performing the laser beam machining of the long size material W with a laser beam machining head 9 which is provided freely movably in the direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the carriage 7 on the carriage 7 movable in the longitudinal direction of the long size material W, which is a direction approaching and separating from the main chuck 5; a stage where the top side WA of the long size material W is machined with the laser beam by the laser beam machining head 9; and a stage where a rotary clamp which can freely hold the long size material from directions orthogonal to each other and freely rotate integrally with the long size material is provided, and also the top end side of the long size material is supported with a pair of product supports which is freely movable in the longitudinal direction of the long size material, when cutting and separating the top end side of the long size material to which the laser beam machining is performed from the base end side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
