[Also in Division B8] A vibrator for operating a conveyor or the like comprises an imbalance exciter 12, Fig. 1, secured to one of a pair of plates 7, 8 which are adjustably spaced apart by bolts 9 and urged away from a base plate 2 by springs 11. The base 2 is bolted to the frame 6 of the conveyer. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3, two exciters 16 synchronously driven, are connected to a plate 19 by a wall 18. The plate 19 and a plate 20 are adjustably spaced from a base plate 23 by springs 30 and bolts 29. In Fig. 5 the parallel shafts of two exciters 34 are arranged parallel to the longer sides of the vibratory plates 35, 36 and not at right angles thereto. The exciters are attached to the plate 35 and springs 43 and a single bolt 39 space the plates from the base 37. Fig. 6 shows two gear wheels 46 interposed between the wheels 45 of a pair of exciters to keep the height of the apparatus down below what it would be if the wheels 45 were enlarged to engage each other. |
